Kobelco CM-95B91 is a high-integrity, basic-coated low-hydrogen stick electrode within Kobelco's TRUSTARC series.
It is engineered to conform exactly to the strict AWS A5.5 E9015-B91 classification.
Key Specifications & Applications
Target Materials: Explicitly formulated for joining Grade 91 (9Cr-1Mo-V-Nb) ferritic heat-resisting steels. It is widely used to weld ASTM A335 P91 pipes, A213 T91 boiler tubes, and A387 Grade 91 structural plates.
Chemical Profile: Deposits a complex 9% Chromium and 1% Molybdenum weld matrix enhanced with Vanadium (V), Niobium (Nb), and Nitrogen (N). Kobelco tightly controls trace impurities to ensure the Manganese + Nickel sum remains very low, which keeps the critical transformation temperature (Ac?) high.
The "15" Coating Advantage: The E9015 coating utilizes a low-hydrogen sodium flux formulation. Compared to common E9018 iron-powder alternatives, the E9015 matrix introduces significantly lower residual trace elements, heavily reducing the risk of solidification cracking and ensuring optimal metallurgical cleanliness.
Welding Parameters: Operates via Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW / Stick), functioning strictly on Direct Current Electrode Positive (DCEP) polarity across all positions except vertical-down.
Common Use Cases: Frequently specified for heavy-wall joints in ultra-supercritical fossil-fuel thermal power plants, main steam pipelines, oil refinery reactors, and chemical process heaters operating at temperatures up to 650°C.
