Kobelco PREMIARC DW-347 is a premium, rutile-type stabilized stainless steel flux-cored welding wire (FCAW) engineered by Kobe Steel. It is specifically developed to provide exceptional high-temperature strength and maximum corrosion resistance when joining stabilized austenitic stainless steel alloys.

    Technical Classifications & Settings
AWS Classification: E347T0-1 or E347T0-4 (under AWS A5.22).
Note: The "T0" denotes that this standard variant is optimized for flat and horizontal positions.
    EN ISO Standard: EN ISO 17633-A T 19 9 Nb P C1/M21 3.
Shielding Gas Options: Optimized to run with either 100% CO? (suffix -1) or a 75%–80% Argon + Balance CO? mixed gas blend (suffix -4).
Operating Polarity: Runs on DCEP (Direct Current Electrode Positive / DC+).

Core Metallurgical Purpose: Niobium (Nb) Stabilization
The core defining element in DW-347 is its targeted addition of Niobium (Nb / Columbium).
Intergranular Corrosion Prevention: When standard stainless steel is heated during welding, chromium and carbon combine to form chromium carbides along the grain boundaries. This strips the adjacent steel of its chromium, making it sensitive to "weld decay" (intergranular corrosion).
The Stabilizing Effect: Niobium has a much stronger chemical affinity for carbon than chromium does. The niobium aggressively binds with the carbon instead, preventing chromium carbide precipitation and ensuring the weld matrix retains its full, uninterrupted corrosion-resistant profile.

    Target Materials & Service Environments
This wire is explicitly formulated for high-heat, high-pressure environments where the equipment continuously operates at temperatures between 400°C and 800°C, including:
    AISI 347 (Niobium-stabilized) stainless steel.
    AISI 321 (Titanium-stabilized) stainless steel.
Aircraft exhaust manifolds, collector rings, engine components, and automotive exhaust assemblies.
Main steam lines, boiler tubes, chemical distillation columns, and high-temperature refinery piping.

    Key Performance Benefits
Self-Peeling Slag: Features a fast-freezing rutile slag compound that completely seals the hot bead. As the joint cools down, the glassy slag cracks and lifts away automatically, minimizing mechanical grinding time.
Stable Spray Arc: Delivers a incredibly smooth, spatter-free spray arc transition. This prevents stray spatter balls from bonding to neighboring polished stainless sheets, reducing finishing costs.
High-Purity Radiographic Integrity: Formulated to maintain an optimal ferrite balance (typically a Ferrite Number of 6 to 10 FN), providing excellent resistance to hot cracking and effortlessly passing severe X-ray/radiographic sound inspections.
