Kobelco - TIG Wire - ER80SG

Kobelco TG-SM is a specialized, solid TIG (GTAW) welding rod from Kobelco's TRUSTARC series.
It conforms strictly to the international industry classification AWS A5.28 ER80S-G.

Key Specifications & Applications
Target Materials: Specifically engineered for welding 0.5% Molybdenum low-alloy heat-resistant steels.
It is highly applied to join ASTM A204 Grade A, B, C plates and ASTM A335 Grade P1 / A209 T1 piping components.
Chemical Strategy: Enriched primarily with Manganese (Mn) and Molybdenum (Mo) to significantly raise high-temperature tensile strength, impact toughness, and resistance to thermal creep up to approximately 500°C.
Welding Parameters: Handled via Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW / TIG), operating exclusively on Direct Current Electrode Negative (DCEN) polarity.
Shielding Gas Requirements: Requires 100% Pure Argon gas for the torch shield. Like standard solid alloy rods, an Argon gas back-purge is highly recommended to protect the back bead of the root pass from oxidation.
Common Use Cases: Widely deployed for critical root and fill runs in high-pressure pipelines, heavy industrial boiler tubing, steam headers, and pressure vessels within the petrochemical and thermal power sectors.
