Lincoln Electric POWERIND 500I is an industrial, inverter-driven semi-automatic multi-process DC welding power source. Upgraded to deliver up to 500 Amps of output, this heavy-duty machine supports Constant Voltage (CV) and Constant Current (CC) configurations.
The Lincoln Electric POWERIND 500I is engineered for heavy-duty industrial fabrication, structural steel erection, shipbuilding, and general manufacturing shop floors. Powered by an IGBT inverter operating at a 20 kHz switching frequency, it pairs massive output capacity with a space-saving footprint optimized for vertical stacking.
The system delivers stable CV welding arcs across standard 100% CO2 or Argon-based shielding gas mixes. It excels at solid-wire MIG/MAG, Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), and heavy stick (MMA) welding. Built to manage demanding shop environments, it comes equipped with a separate, lightweight 4-roll wire feeder powered by a precision servo control motor. Operators can adjust arc traits directly via the user interface, utilizing dedicated dials for adjustable crater current/voltage controls, cold wire feeding, and a gas purge switch. Safeties include built-in thermal overload protection and single-phasing safeguards.
