StarBlaze CI 55 is a premium, graphite-basic coated pure nickel core welding electrode (rod). Classified under AWS A5.15 as ENi-CI, this rod features a nominal 95% to 98% pure nickel weld deposit, making it the absolute industry benchmark for repairing thin-gauge grey iron castings, correcting foundry defects, and handling applications requiring the highest degree of post-weld machinability.

    Core Product Features
“A graphite basic coated pure nickel core wire electrode designed for joining and repairing grey cast iron components. StarBlaze CI 55 deposits a highly ductile, pure nickel weld metal that offers premium softness and exceptional crack resistance.”

Maximum Softness & Machinability: Because pure nickel does not absorb carbon from the cast iron to form hard carbides, the weld deposit remains ultra-soft and easily drilled, tapped, or filed.
Low-Amperage Arc Stability: Operates exceptionally well at low electrical currents, keeping heat input minimal and preventing the heat-affected zone (HAZ) from becoming brittle.
High Ductility: The pure nickel deposit possesses high elasticity, stretching as the joint cools to absorb shrinkage stresses and prevent hairline cracking.
Excellent Wetting Action: The specialized graphite flux allows the molten metal to wash smoothly into contaminated or oily cast textures, minimizing porosity.
