StarBlaze MIG 410 is a high-quality, precision layer-wound solid martensitic stainless steel MIG welding wire. Classified under AWS A5.9 as ER410, this wire deposits a nominal 12% to 13% chromium weld metal matrix. It is primarily engineered for the surface cladding of carbon steels and the structural repair of hardenable martensitic stainless components subject to wear.
Core Product Features
“StarBlaze MIG 410 is a ER410/G13 type solid MAG welding wire supplied precision layer wound, depositing a C-13%Cr weld metal... mainly used for deposition of overlays on carbon steels to resist corrosion, erosion or abrasion.”
Air-Hardening Deposit: The carbon and chromium ratio forms an inherently hard, air-hardenable martensitic microstructure. This configuration provides excellent wear performance.
Galling & Erosion Resistance: Widely used to build up sealing boundaries and heavy-wear faces. It delivers durable resistance against mechanical galling, friction, and fluid erosion.
Ultra-Clean Wetting: Precision manufacturing ensures the wire has a highly uniform surface finish. This provides consistent arc striking, exceptionally low spatter, and reliable wire feedability.
Metallurgical Control Required: Because the as-deposited metal is hard and brittle, preheating and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) are generally required to manage cracking.
