STARBLAZE TIG ERNiCr-3 is a premium, solid nickel-based TIG welding rod engineered for high-performance joining, cladding, and repairing of critical alloy systems.
Complying with the international AWS A5.14 ERNiCr-3 classification, it deposits a heavy Nickel-Chromium matrix fortified with Niobium.
Commonly utilized across extreme thermal industries, it acts as a premier "universal filler" for high-stress applications.
It is exceptionally resistant to carbon migration, preventing brittle carbide interfaces when marrying completely mismatched steels.
Product Overview & Composition
Alloy Classification: Conforms tightly to international standards
AWS A5.14: ERNiCr-3, UNS N06082, and EN ISO 18274: S Ni 6082.
Chemical Profile: Formulated with a dominant base of ~72% Nickel (Ni), 20% Chromium (Cr), 3% Manganese (Mn), and up to 2.5% Niobium + Tantalum (Nb+Ta).
Extreme Temperature Endurance: Delivers high mechanical strength, cold toughness, and excellent oxidation resistance across a temperature range spanning from cryogenic extremes (-196°C) up to 1050°C.
Carbon Diffusion Barrier: The high-nickel chemistry suppresses carbon migration. This preserves long-term boundary flexibility in high-heat zones where ferritic and austenitic metals interface.
Compatible Base Materials
This filler metal provides a direct metallurgical or highly resilient buffer match to join:
Nickel Alloys: Inconel® 600, Incoloy® 800, 800H, and similar Nickel-Chromium-Iron formulations.
Dissimilar Metals: Successfully bridges the gap between stainless steel grades, low-alloy carbon steels, and nickel-base parts.
Cryogenic Steels: High-integrity joints on 3% to 9% Nickel steel substrates used in liquid gas infrastructure.
