ER4043 TIG filler wire is one of the most widely used and versatile aluminum-silicon welding rods designed for Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW / TIG).
Classified under AWS A5.10 as ER4043, this filler metal is alloyed with 5% silicon, which drastically increases puddle fluidity and reduces weld cracking.
Core Product Features
High Weld Fluidity: The 5% silicon addition lowers the melting point of the alloy and creates a highly fluid weld pool, making it exceptionally easy for operators to control.
Elite Crack Resistance: Its fluid chemistry drastically reduces solidification shrinkage, virtually eliminating hot cracking in highly constrained joints.
Bright, Clean Finishes: Produces bright, aesthetically clean, and finely rippled weld beads with exceptionally low soot or discoloration.
Anodizing Consideration: While highly weldable, the silicon content causes the weld bead to turn a distinct dark grey color if the component undergoes post-weld anodising processes.
AWS Classification: AWS A5.10 / ASME SFA A5.10 ER4043 (UNS A94043)
Chemical Profile: Aluminum base with ~4.5% ÔøΩ 6.0% Silicon (Si) modification
Shielding Gas: 100% Pure Argon or Argon/Helium mixtures for thick plates (Gas flow rate: 10ÔøΩ20 LPM)
Welding Current: Alternating Current (AC) with a High-Frequency (HF) arc stabilizer
Typical Tensile Strength: ~24,000 PSI (~165 MPa)
