ER4043 MIG welding wire is one of the most widely used and versatile aluminum-silicon solid wires designed for Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW / MIG).
Classified under AWS A5.10 as ER4043, this wire is alloyed with 5% silicon, which lowers the melting point, increases puddle fluidity, and provides excellent resistance to solidification cracking.
Core Product Features
High Puddle Fluidity: The 5% silicon addition drastically improves weld pool wetting action, resulting in flat bead profiles and smooth transitions at the weld toes.
Elite Crack Resistance: By reducing solidification shrinkage, it virtually eliminates hot cracking issues, making it highly forgiving on heavily constrained joints.
Low Post-Weld Cleanup: Delivers a stable arc with minimal spatter, resulting in clean, bright weld beads that require very little post-weld dressing.
Anodizing Color Note: While it is highly weldable, the silicon content causes the weld bead to turn a distinct dark grey color if the component undergoes post-weld anodising processes.
AWS Classification: AWS A5.10 / ASME SFA A5.10 ER4043 (UNS A94043)
Chemical Profile: Aluminum base with ~4.5% ÔøΩ 6.0% Silicon (Si) modification
Shielding Gas Options: 100% Pure Argon (or Argon/Helium mixtures for thick plates over 12 mm)
Welding Current: Direct Current Electrode Positive (DCEP / DC+)
