Tungsten Electrode Abicor E3 Purple

Abicor Binzel E3 Tungsten Electrode is a premium, non-radioactive TIG welding electrode. It features a unique purple color code and is designed with an engineered blend of rare earth mixed oxides. This makes it a high-performance substitute for traditional 2% thoriated (red) tungsten electrodes.

The Abicor Binzel E3 is an all-purpose electrode. It can be used for both Alternating Current (AC) and Direct Current (DC) TIG welding. It is widely used in automated, robotic, and manual applications because it easily strikes stable arcs even at lower amperages.

Unlike radioactive thoriated (red) tungsten, the E3 contains no hazardous materials. This protects welders from breathing in harmful grinding dust during sharpening, and residual waste does not require specialized hazard disposal protocols. Structurally, the mixed oxides allow the electrode tip to run roughly 1650°F (approx. 900°C) cooler than thoriated equivalents under the same energy load.

This low thermal stress dramatically reduces tip degradation and extends the electrode's overall life span.
